Union County native

GAFFNEY - Barbara Jean Tucker Harris, 71, widow of Willie James Harris, of 510 Thompson St., Gaffney, formerly of 401 Lakewood Drive, Union, died May 29, 2008 in Brookview Healthcare in Gaffney.

A native of Union County, she was the daughter of the late Berry and Grace Booker Tucker. She was a member of the Bethesda Baptist Church.

Survivors include three sons, Willie Tucker of Aliquippa, Pa., and Ricky Harris and Terry Harris, both of Union; two daughters, Sheila Harris of Simpsonville and Mary Harris of Union; a stepdaughter, Elizabeth Johnson of Carlisle; three sisters, Lillie Mae Tucker of Union and Maggie (Bill) Ford and Helen Tucker, both of Aliquippa, Pa.; 31 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at Bethesda Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Courtney Mills. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m.

The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter, Mary Harris, 113 Hancock St. Union.

Arrangements are with the Michael A. Glenn Funeral Home Union.
