A Union woman faces multiple drug charges after she allegedly sold to an undercover informant.

Darby Horne Gann, 37, of 2624 Lockhart Highway was charged Thursday by the Union County Sheriff's Office with distribution of a Schedule 3 substance, distribution of a Schedule 3 substance within one-half mile of a school, distribution of a Schedule 4 substance, distribution of a Schedule 4 substance within one-half mile of a school and distribution of a controlled substance.

A report said Lt. John Sherfield provided money to an operative who met Ms. Gann and purchased 10 pills believed to be Clonizepam, four pills believed to be Hydrocodone and four pills believed to be 800 mg Ibuprofen.

The sale occurred in the parking lot of CVS on Rice Avenue, within one-half mile of Union County Stadium.

Stabbing

A warrant for assault and battery with intent to kill has been signed against a Jonesville man involved in a stabbing incident early Friday morning at BP on 1315 Lockhart Highway.

A report said Sgt. Dee Haney and Deputy Thom McAbee were called to the convenience store after it was reported a fight was in progress, someone had been stabbed and was on his way to Wallace Thomson Hospital.

But when the deputies arrived, no one there knew who had been stabbed or who had been the assailant.

At Wallace Thomson, the victim, 23-year-old Richard Brandon, said he and the Jonesville man got into a fight and the Jonesville man stabbed him. He had a cut on the right side of his neck and his left arm. He was flown by helicopter to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Officer threatened

Lequan D. Norman, 31, of 270 Oakland Road was charged Wednesday by the sheriff's office with unlawful use of the telephone.

A report said Norman called the Union County Jail and told an officer that because of what Deputy Roxie Belue was “trying to do to him” someone was going to put her in a body bag.

A report said Deputy Randy Manus and Haney took a statement from the jailer and went to Norman's home. He was intoxicated. Haney checked the phone and when she hit the redial button it called the jail. Norman was arrested.

Thefts and break-ins

On 4229 Buffalo-West Springs Highway, a man reported to Cpl. Jeff Wright that a black cast iron pot is missing from his yard. The victim said the last time he remembered seeing the pot was in November. It is worth $100.

On 136 Maybinton Road, a man told Wright that someone took a scrap vehicle from his brother's yard. The house is unoccupied and the 1983 Ford Escort had been sitting there for three years. It is worth $500.

On 796 Bobby Faucette Road, victims told Sgt. Russell Vinson Wednesday that someone took medication from a chest of drawers in a bedroom while they were away. A front screen had been removed from a window.

On 788 Bobby Faucette Road, also on Wednesday, a victim told Lt. Robbie Hines that two pistols and a digital camera are missing from his home. One pistol was a Bersa .380, the other is a Glock 9 mm. The camera was a Kodak Easy share. These items are worth $1,400. The victim was unsure of the exact date the items were stolen.

On 794 Bobby Faucette Road, a man told Hines that after his brother's home was broken into, he found items missing from his home. He said $300 was taken from the family bible and a .38 Special pistol is gone. The theft is believed to have occurred since May 7.

At the county skateboard park on 387 Hawthorne Road, someone broke glass bottles in the skateboard area and shattered a light. Damage was estimated at $50. This case was reported to Deputy Roxie Belue Wednesday by a skateboarder.
