Robert J. Reynolds, Sr., 71, of 600 S. Pinckney St., husband of Mae Reynolds, died Friday, May 9, 2008 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Reynolds was born in Union, June 10, 1936, a son of the late Oliver Reynold and Lillie Mae Tucker Chapman. He was retired from Cone Mill, Carlisle Finishing Plant and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Reynolds was first married to the late Shirley Reynolds. He was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving in addition to his wife are three daughters, Clara Robinette and husband Jimmy, and Emily Eaddy, all of Union; and Debra Leonard and husband John of Liberty; one son, Jimmy Reynolds of Union; two step-daughters, Annette Sutherland and Margaret Waters; 23 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Mr. Reynolds was predeceased by a daughter, Barbara R. Harris, a son, John Oliver Reynolds Sr. and a great-grandson, Christo-pher Adam Williford.

Funeral services were held Sunday, May 11, 2008 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by the Rev. Ken Holcombe. Burial was in Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were David Warren, Steve Judy, Johnny Reynolds, Chad Reynolds, Rocky Taylor and Mikey Judy.

R.D. Williams was honorary pallbearer.

Visitation was held Saturday evening at the funeral home.
