James Gilford “Pete” Foster Sr., husband of Barbara Savage Foster, of 224 Imperial Drive, died Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at Wallace Thomson Hospital.
Mr. Foster was born Dec. 22, 1946, in Adamsburg, the son of the late Felix and Willie Lee Foster Hughes. He was a former employee of Timken Company and a Deacon at Jerusalem Baptist Church in Jonesville.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, James G. (Shelia) Foster of Spartanburg, Frederic (Ursula) Foster of Union and Eric Foster of the home; five grandchildren; two brothers, Jerry (Lozabelle) Foster and Eugene (Andrea) Foster, both of Union; two sisters, Martha Goodwin of Columbia and Sarah (Ducie) Robinson of Roebuck; his stepfather, Jesse James Hughes of Union and mother-in-law, Sarah Shaw of Carlisle.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 3, 2008, at Jerusalem Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family is at the home.
The Gibson & Brown Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
