Second car wash burglary reported

The Union County Sheriff's Office is investigating a car wash burglary, the second reported locally this week.

According to a report, the break-in at Classic Car Wash on 1436 Lockhart Highway was discovered Wednesday. Owner Kenny O'Shields told Cpl. Scott Ruby that someone knocked a hole in the ceiling, entered a change machine and took quarters.

Damage was estimated at $100.

The Union Public Safety Department is investigating a similar break-in reported April 18 at A&O Car Wash on 300 North Pinckney St.

Officers found someone had entered the room through the ceiling of the automatic car wash stall and then exited through the door. Damage was estimated at $300.

Woman arrested

Ashley D. Hendrix, 22, of 3029 Whitmire Highway, was charged Tuesday by the sheriff's office with grand larceny.

She is accused of taking jewelry from a home on 115 Silver Road in January.

Fugitive from justice

A Union man is accused of being a fugitive from justice in New York.

Michael Nolan Harris, 21, of 121 Aqua Lane, was taken into custody on Tuesday by the Union County Sheriff's Office.According to a report, Deputy Thom McAbee served the warrant on Harris at the Union County Jail. The warrant said Harris is wanted in New York for "dangerous drugs."
