CLINTON - Robert “Bob” Lemon, 75, widower of Dorothy Sims Lemmon, of 1411 S. Bell St., Clinton, died Friday, April 4, 2008 at McCall Hospice House in Simpsonville.

Mr. Lemon was baptized at Seekwell Baptist Church in Maybinton and later joined Fairview A.M.E. Church in Clinton. He worked in construction and retired from Eagle Construction Co. He enjoyed baseball and spent many weekends attending the games.

Surviving are seven sons, Greg M. Lemon of Woodruff, Ronnie F. Lemon (Johnnie) of Batesburg, Miker A. Lemon (Brenda) of Clinton, Thomas E. Lemon (Charlotte) of Annapolis, Md., Stanley J. Lemon of Washington, D.C., Gerald B. Sims (Joann and Charles A. Sims, both of Newberry; a daughter, Robbie L. Diamond (Moses) of Columbia; five brothers, Robert Lee, Eutah, Thomas William Lyles, all of Philadelphia, Pa., John Lyles (Celeste) of Springfield , Mass. and Carl Lyles of Newberry; three sisters, Lenora Lemon of Whitmire, Carrie Lyles of Newberry, and Venia Lyles of Rock Hill; 16 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; a devoted sister-in-law, Ollie Lyles of Newberry; special friend, Louvenia Franks of Clinton; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at Fairview AME Church in Clinton conducted by the Rev. Gracie Smith. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The body will be placed in the church at noon to await the hour of service.

The family is at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Brenda Lemon, 248 Piedmont Ave., Oakdale Acres Community, Clinton.
