These “ladies” recently participated in a womanless beauty pageant to raise money for the Unity/Sardis Relay for Life Team. They are: Kevin Lancaster, Terry Humphries, Josh Comer (who was the winner), Roger Bailey, Clerk of Court Brad Morris, Freddie Gault, the Rev. Tommy Bailey and Union County Auditor Brad Valentine. Judges were Sheriff Howard Wells, Union County Chamber of Commerce Director Torance Inman, the Rev. Alan Quarles, Robert Smith and Jackie Drake of Cherokee County Relay for Life. Ann Hart, Unity/Sardis team captain, said the event raised $2,100 - an amount with which the team was very pleased. “The contestants made the show,” Mrs. Hart said. “This was the first time we had tried to do a pageant or anything this big.” (Beth Smith photo)
