A Li'L Cricket employee is accused of selling alcohol to a minor.
Emily I. Smith, 54, of 5901 Whitmire Highway, Whitmire, was charged Friday by the Union Public Safety Department with sale of alcohol to a person under 21.
A report said Investigator Mickey Parker provided $3 to a confidential informant who went to the Li'L Cricket on Lakeside Drive and bought a Sparks alcoholic beverage. The report said the informant was under the age of 20.
Mrs. Smith was released from the Union County Jail after posting a $200 cash bond.
Car wash break-in
A break-in was discovered Friday morning at A&O Car Wash on 300 North Pinckney St.
Around $400 in quarters was taken from a change macine. The door to the utility room was damaged with some type of blunt object and the deadbolt was missing. The change machine locking device also was damaged. Total damage was estimated at $700.
Drugs
A Union man is accused of selling drugs to a confidential informant with the sheriff's office.
Eddie Brannon Jr., 25, of 912 North Church St., was charged Friday with distribution of crack and distribution of crack within one-half mile of a school or park.
A report said Lt. David Kitchens and Lt. John Sherfield provided an informant with money on Jan. 2. The informant went to the Dixie Curb Mart parking lot on 503 South Church St, met with Brannon and bought $20 worth of crack. The store is within one-half mile of Excelsior Middle School.
