Two men have been arrested on drug charges in cases made by the Union County Sheriff's Office and the Union Public Safety Department.
- Keith Santel Woods, 28, of 126 Perrin Ave., was charged Wednesday by the sheriff's office with distribution of crack and distribution of crack within one-half mile of a school or park.
A report said Lt. David Kitchens and Lt. John Sherfield provided money to an informant on Jan. 10. The informant went to the Dixie Curb Market area and talked to Woods about buying $20 worth of crack. Woods told the informant to go down the street to 805 South Pinckney St. and there he sold the informant the crack. The sale occurred within one-half mile of Excelsior Middle School.
- Marcus A. Foster 26, of 200 Hamlet St., was charged Wednesday by the public safety department with distribution of crack and distribution of crack within one-half mile of a school or park.
Arrest warrants signed by Investigator Mickey Parker said Foster told crack cocaine to an undercover operative with the public safety department on Nov. 8 on New Street, which is within one-half mile of Sims Jr. High.
Woman arrested
Velika L. Jennings, 21, of 638 South Pinckney St., Carlisle, was charged Wednesday by the public safety department with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature and second-degree burglary.
Arrest warrants signed by Cpl. Scott Farr said Ms. Jennings forcibly entered the home of Rodrequez Chisholm on 118 Buffalo St. and cut Chisholm on the right hand with a knife.
Tractor stolen
Also on Wednesday, a Travelers Rest man told Deputy Roxie Belue that someone stole his 1967 Massey Ferguson tractor from a shed on property he owns on 100 Brocks Creek Trail in Carlisle. The tractor was in running condition, had a bush hog attached and is worth around $4,000.
Bullet holes
A victim on 401 Sardis Road told Belue that he found several bullet holes on the front side of his residence. Damage was estimated at $300. The damage was reported Wednesday.
Thefts
on 127 Rockport Way, a victim told Cpl. Jeff Wright Wednesday that someone took two cameras from his 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee. One was a Sony video camera and the other was a Cannon Rebel. These are worth a combined total of $900. The vehicle was left unlocked.
A break-in was reported Wednesday at Williams Chapel AME Zion Church on 203 Central Ave., Carlisle. A church member told Deputy Russell Roark that entry was made by breaking a window out of the social hall. A file cabinet was broken into and around $200 in change was taken.
