The UTV race will be held on Saturday, April 12, as part of the Big Buck GNCC, which also features ATV racing on Saturday and bike racing on Sunday, April 13. The races bring thousands of racers and fans to Union County each Spring.
UTVs have four wheels and four classes, from stock to modified. Each entry has a two-man crew.
This is the first championship UTV race for the Can-Am GNCC Series, as a champion will be crowned at the end of the season. It's the first national level UTV race in the southeast and should attract at least 200 entries.
The first Can-Am GNCC UTV race was held last year and Racer Productions had unprecedented demand for a race to be held in the south this year.
Union Mayor Bruce Morgan, Union County Commissioner Donnie Betenbaugh, the Union County Tourism Commission, Union County Chamber of Commerce Director Torance Inman and members of the Union County Motorsports Association directly influenced the race being awarded to Big Buck and Union County.
“I want to thank them for their efforts and support in making it happen,” said track owner Henry Turner.
