The Glory Divine Dancers are hosting a youth gospel fest at Sims Junior High School on Saturday, Feb. 9, at 5 p.m. as a benefit for Channing Gist. Gospel choirs from 15 churches will perform, along with gospel rap artist DK. Tickets are available in advance by calling Angela Worthy at 427-3765. “These are great girls,” Miss Worthy said of her dancers, who have been together about six months. “They are honor roll students and cheerleaders.” A former Union High School cheerleader, Miss Worthy took dance lessons for 15 years and said it's always been her dream to teach her own dancers. Pictured are: (front row) Quanisha Spears, Kionna Smith, Sierra Gist, Shakima Hughes, Chasmyn Smith and Jasmine Craig. (Back row) Shakiera Spears, Briana Tucker, Iysha Russell, Derricka Good, Shiniqua Gist, Clarissa Hughes and Angela Worthy.
