215 - Phillip Wicker (WHS) wrestled up a class and pinned Carson with 31.5 secs remaining in the 1st
287 - Jeremy Lyles (WHS) pinned Brownlee with 54.9 secs remaining in the 1st
“Any time in wrestling that you win, while only filling six of 14 weight classes, then it's a big win,” said coach Jarrod King. “After losing to Ware Shoals the first time we met, our guys were really disappointed in themselves. They were very determined to have a different outcome this time around. I always enjoy seeing young people set their minds to a goal, work toward that goal and then reap the benefits of their hard work.”
Whitmire hosts Christ Church and Newberry on Tuesday.
“I definitely feel like we are headed in the right direction at a very critical time in the season,” said King.
