JERSEY CITY, N.J. - John A. Moorman, 64, of Jersey City, N.J., husband of Sandra Stewart Moorman died Nov. 12, 2007 after a brief illness.

Mr. Moorman was born in Union County on Jan. 16, 1943, a son of the late Samuel and Lady Belle Moorman. He was a graduate of Sims High School, Class of 1964, where he excelled in football. Mr. Moorman moved to Jersey City in 1969 and was employed at H.H. I.S. Express Trucking Co. until January of 2003. He joined Monumental Baptist Church and was a member of the male chorus.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Mark; three step-sons, Dennis, Aaron and Darren Stewart; four sisters, Mary Johnson, Janie Means, and Queen Moorman, all of Union; five grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren; two daughters-in-law, six sisters-in-law; five brothers-in-law; a special niece, Kelly Moorman Stevens; a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives an friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 17, 2007, at the Monumental Baptist Church in Jersey City by the Rev. Joseph L. Jones. Burial was in Bayview Cemetery.
