Funeral services for Donald Rice, 71, of 720 Lakeside Drive, Apt. K-2, Union, husband of Roudean Glenn Rice, were held Sunday afternoon at Union Comm-unity Funeral Chapel by the Rev. McElroy Hughes. Burial was in the St. Paul Society Cemetery.

Mr. Rice died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2007, at Ellen Sagar Nursing Home.

A son of the late David Rice and Margaret Beecham Rice, he was born in Union on Feb. 22, 1936. He was a graduate of Union County schools and a retired truck driver with Nemo Tile in Jamaica, Long Island, N.Y.

Surviving in addition to his wife are three daughters, Carolyn Rutherford of Bronx, N.Y., Belinda Hills and Helen Johnson, both of Jamaica, Long Island; three brothers, Melvin Rice of Union, William “Billy” Rice of Bronx, N.Y. and Lynwood Rice of Jamaica, Long Island; three sisters, Dorothy Gadson and Joann Holmes, both of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Margaret Sims of Union; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
