Jonesville Fire Chief Jimmy Wilkins assists firefighter and Jonesville Police Officer Ron Bishop with his air pack Monday during a fire on 782 Gaffney Highway, Jonesville. Wilkins said the fire at the home of Jimmy and Kathy Gallman originated in an upstairs bedroom and the Union County Sheriff's Office is working with the Jonesville Fire Department to determine the cause. Bonham and Kelly-Kelton fire departments responded with Jonesville. Wilkins said little structural damage was done to the house, but the bedroom and a hall sustained smoke and water damage. Mrs. Gallman jumped out the upstairs window of the split-level house to escape and suffered broken bones. (Anna Brown/Times)
