Azilee Palmer Vaughan, 85, widow of Palmer Vaughan of 3227 Lockhart Highway, Union, died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007 at her home after a long illness.

Mrs. Vaughan was born in Union on May 23, 1922, a daughter of the late James Thaddie Palmer and Mary Vaughan Palmer. She was a member of Philippi Baptist Church.

Surviving are a son, Harold Kenneth Vaughan of Union; a brother, J.T. Palmer Jr. and wife Ethel of Union; two grandchildren, Anitra Smith and husband Kevin of Buffalo and Harold Christopher Vaughan of Union; two great-granchildren, Brandon Davis and Cody Vaughan; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Vaughan was predeceased by two sisters, Lillie Ruth Gibson and Rhoda Nell Bentley; and four brothers, Vaughan Palmer, Clyde Palmer, Frank Palmer and Ralph Palmer.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007 at Philippi Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Brad Goodale. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Todd Palmer, Steve Gibson, Bobby Hyatt, Eddie Gibson, Wayne Palmer, Todd Palmer and Robert Palmer.

Visitation will be from 7 until 9 tonight, Monday, Oct. 29, 2007, at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of South Carolina, 408 N. Duncan By-Pass, Suite 6, Union, S.C. 29379.
