Sis went to her doctor and when the doctor came in the room to see her, she told him, “Doc, I have this awful fear of thunder, it scares me and I don’t know what to do.” The nice doctor told Sis, “Mrs. Haney, that is ridiculous. Thunder is a natural phenomenon, nothing to be afraid of. Just do like I do. Whenever you hear thunder, just put your head under your pillow and you can’t hear it!!”
Special Person Of The Week
Our Special Person of The Week is Mr. Larkin Burgess. Larkin and wife Tootsie lives on Sprouse Road just outside Jonesville. He is a lifelong resident of the county and has been a dealer in heavy equipment for several years. At present, Larkin is bed ridden after suffering a stroke approximately four years ago. Keep Larkin and family in prayer as he continues to recover. Mr. Larkin Burgess, we love you very much.
Continuing Mystery
Mrs. Linda Fleming and I were discussing the picture that we had a couple of weeks back. She was helping me decide why the flag was being flown at half-staff. Mrs. Fleming thought it was for one of our local troops that was seriously wounded in the war. Someone else asked if it was because the Disney Plant closed down and was “dead.” If you know why the flag was at half-staff, let me know. I will keep asking until we know for sure.
Rescheduled
Mark your calendar, the Annual Medi-Home Santa Workshop has been rescheduled. It will be on Dec. 15. This group will treat the residents at Ellen Sagar nursing Home at 2:30 p.m. They still need some help with gifts for the folks there. Call Mrs. Jenny Crocker at 426-3646 or 427-8322.

Our youngest son, Do Rize is begging his Maw for a new red Mustang convertible for his upcoming graduation. She can get this new car for only $900 down and $500 a month for five years. He is graduating kindergarten in June. He is 24. I do believe Sis will cave in and buy it.

On Nov. 28, Billy and Miriam Gregory will celebrate an anniversary. They will go to the Caro Mi dining room in Tryon, N.C. and then back to the jewelry store and then to Hardees.

Nov. 24 is Thanksgiving Day. Let us be thankful for all we have and pray for the needy, pray for all our troops as some have to give up this day at home while they protect us from harm.
