The Jonesville Wildcats kicked off the 2011 season with a 32-12 victory over the visiting Tigers from EP Todd.

The Wildcats struck paydirt on their first play when TJ Glenn scored on a 60 yard run. Jermarcus Durham added the conversion, and the Cats led 8-0.

After trading possessions, the Wildcats struck again on a 64 yard pass from Crawford to Trey Eison. Crawford again succeeded on the two point conversion to stretch the lead to 16-0.

The Tigers closed the gap to 16-6 when they returned the ensuing kickoff 68 yards for a touchdown.

After a Wildcat turnover on downs, Eison returned an interception 47 yards for a touchdown. Dee Crawford added the point after attempt, and the Wildcats led 24-6 at the half.

EP Todd scored first in the second half on 60 yard run, pulling them to within 12. The Wildcats responded when Glenn returned the ensuing kickoff 72 yards. Brandon Thompson added the two point conversion to put the game away.

“The kids played hard,” said Coach Michael Mullinax. “Coaches Inman, Eison, and Davis did a great job of getting them ready. They responded with a great showing and deserve to win like this. They have worked hard even through the heat.”
