El Moe was in Juvenile Court being prosecuted for stealing chickens down on Pea Ridge. The judge asked everyone to stand and state their name for the court reporter. One said, “John Justice, prosecutor. One said, “Linda Jenkins, probation officer.” One said, “Freddie Gault, public defender.” El Moe said, “I’m the one who stole the chickens.”

Special Person of The Week
Our Special Person of The Week is Mr. Jimmy Moss. Jimmy and his wife Harriet live in Jonesville. They both attend Jonesville Baptist Church. He is very active in his church work and helps with the Men’s Club breakfast on Saturdays. Jimmy is a member of Jonesville Prudence Lodge #139. He is having some health problems at this time and we ask that you keep Jimmy and his family in prayers.
More Anniversaries
On June 12, Mike and Donna Manus will celebrate an anniversary. Mike will take Donna to Santee-Cooper for fishing and then back to Pea Ridge for rabbit hunting. On June 14, David “Shaff” and Betty Jo Taylor will celebrate an anniversary. David will take the lady to Quantico, Va. to view the FBI Academy and then to a nice steak house, after that they are jewelry store bound.

Church Steeple Identified
Mr. Roger Bailey was the first to identify the location of the church steeple in May 31 Times. His gift is in the mail. The second to get it right was Paula Gilkinson. Others were, Jerry Smith, George Holloway, Ruth Quinn and Joyce Dawkins. It is the Corinth Baptist Church on North Herndon Street.
Birthdays
We wish a happy birthday to Mrs. Gloria “Puddin” Farr. She won’t say how old she is, but did say that she was born back when dinosaurs roamed the earth. Her birthday is on June 5. Also, Virginia Eaves will have another one on June 3. She was born back when there was no lights on Pea Ridge. On June 10, Stacy Farr and Caroline Black will celebrate a birthday. We wish all you ladies a very happy day.

Tragic Loss
We were saddened to learn of the death of our friend and neighbor, Daniel “Carrot Top” McFalls. He was seriously injured in a four-wheeler accident that resulted in his death.
