KANNAPOLIS, N.C. — Leroy Littlejohn, 78, of Landis, N.C., died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009 in Hospice House and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County in Kannapolis, N.C. Mr. Littlejohn was born May 30, 1930, in Union County, to the late Millus and Allie Littlejohn.

Mr. Littlejohn was resident of Bronx, N.Y., for many years and was a member of the Mahwah Full Gospel Church in N.J. He retired from Hansel Tire Co. after working there for many years.

Surviving are one daughter, Donnelle L. McCleave of Kannapolis, N.C.; step children, Phyllis Harris, Johnny Rankin and David Rankin, all of Kannapolis, N.C.; two grandchildren, Brandon (Sheena) Littlejohn of Kannapolis, N.C., and Ursula McCleave of Charlotte, N.C.; 4 brothers, Abraham(Julia) Littlejohn, of Trotwood Ohio; Marion Littlejohn of Bronx, N.Y., Charles and Thad (Mithra) Littlejohn of Jonesville; and a host of nieces and nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009, at 2 p.m. at Jerusalem Baptist Church. Burial in the church cemetery.

The Gibson & Brown Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
