Mrs. Chapman was born in Chester County, March 22, 1944, a daughter of the late Albert James Smith, Sr. and Grace Smith. She was a member of Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church.
Survivors are two daughters, Melissa Taylor of Marion and Emily McWaters; four sisters, Gladys Teay Smith, Peggy Jo Morrison, Helen Faye McCutchinson and Becky Darby all of Chester; two brothers, James Smith and Billy Smith both of Chester; two grandchildren, Jimmy Chassin Taylor of Anderson and Elizabeth Ann Taylor of Marion. Mrs. Chapman was pre-deceased by a sister, Catherine Smith and two brothers, Albert James Smith Jr. and Donald Smith.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009, at Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church conducted by the Rev. Steve Lemons. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 3 until 4 p.m. at the church prior to the service.
The family is at their respective homes.
