Thefts, vandalism under investigation

A burglary in which cash and pills were stolen; a stolen car and a vandalized truck; and the theft of a handgun are being investigated by the Union County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident report states an officer was dispatched the morning of Feb. 21 141 Oak Grove Road, Lot 13, Union, in reference to a burglary. The victim said he’d left home around 9 a.m. and when he returned around 10:30 a.m. he noticed his front door had been pried open. The victim said $600 in cash and two bottles of pills from his home.

Car Stolen

An unlocked door with the keys inside made it easy for a thief or thieves to steal a grey 1988 Chevy Caprice from a a residence at 1638 Santuc Drive, Carisle, sometime between 1 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Feb. 20. The vehicle has an estimated value of $500.

Truck Vandalized

A Jonesville man went to get in his gold 1999 Chevy S10 early Feb. 22 only to discover someone had punctured the right side front and rear tires. The damage, which is estimated at $300, was done sometime between 3:30 p.m. Feb. 21 and 1:30 a.m. Feb. 22 while the vehicle was parked at 101 Webber St., Jonesville.

Firearms Stolen

A .38 caliber Smith & Wesson revolver handgun was the target of a thief or thieves who stole it from a black 2006 Ford F-150 truck parked at 129 Rockport Way, Pacolet. The gun, which has an estmiated value of $300, was stolen from the center console of the vehicle sometime between 3 p.m. Feb. 14 and 9 a.m. Feb. 21. The gun is black with a wood handle.
