He was a member of Rice Chapel AME Zion Church, a US Army veteran, and was retired from Sloan Construction Company.
Survivors include a sister, Esther Baskin of Calhoun Falls; a granddaughter, Cartha Giles of New York; and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Rice Chapel AME Zion Church. Burial with military honors will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the home of his niece, Leethel Booker Newell, 200 W. South St.
