Richard Boyd Parham, 55, 1017 Linersville Road, Buffalo, is charged by the Union County Sheriff's Office with criminal domestic violence.
The incident report states deputies were dispatched Saturday to Parham's residence in reference to a domestic dispute. When they arrived, the report states deputies noticed Parham and the victim were in an agitated state with Parham using racist language and accusing the victim of cheating on him. The victim said Parham had been drinking, had kicked open the door to her bedroom, jumped on her and choked her.
While the deputies didn't observe any marks on the victim's neck, the report states they did notice some petechial hemorrhaging in her eyes.
The report states Parham denied any contact with the victim and would only say nothing had happened.
Deputies noticed some damage to the hinges of the bedroom door. They also questioned a witness who said he saw Parham choke the victim. Parham was then placed under arrest and transported to jail.
