King Solomon D. Gilkey, 23, 108 Hancock St., Union, is charged by the Union County Sheriff’s Office with two counts of assault and battery third-degree and assault and battery second-degree.
The incident report states a deputy was dispatched Sunday morning to 220 Bobo St., Union, in reference to a disturbance. The complaint told the deputy Gilkey had assaulted several people in the house. She said the victims were asleep and Gilkey walked through the house hitting them in the face.
The first victim said she was awake and Gilkey was having an argument with another woman. She said she walked over to them and Gilkey turned around and hit her in the face, knocking her out. The report states the whole left side of the victim’s face was swollen and her left eye had swelled shut.
The second victim said she was asleep on the couch and awakened to Gilkey punching her in the face. She said he hit her at least twice in the face, causing a large knot on her forehead and breaking off one of her front teeth.
The third victim said Gilkey punched him in the forehead while he was asleep in a chair. The report states that the third victim had no visible injuries.
The fourth victim said he was asleep in the bed with the complainant and their small child. He said Gilkey punched him in the mouth and started cursing and yelling. The man said he got up and started hitting back. The report states the fourth victim had a swollen lip.
The report states the first two victims were transported to the hospital for treatment. Photos were taken of the victims’ injuries and they each gave a voluntary statement.
Gilkey, who left the incident scene, was located by the deputy at his home on Hancock Street, arrested and taken to jail.

A Whitmire man was arrested after he allegedly ran into a woman’s home and caused her to fall while screaming he was going to kill someone.
Christopher O’Daniel McClurkin, 31, 299 Hunter Road, Whitmire, is charged with the assault and battery third-degree.
The incident report states the victim said McClurkin was walking down Hunter Road Sunday morning screaming. The victim said when she walked to the door of her home at 263 Hunter Road, McClurkin ran to the door, opened it and ran inside, screaming he was going to kill someone. She said he caused her to fall to the ground, adding she was not able to get back up without the help of a relative.
The report states the victim did not have any marks on her while the deputy was on the scene. The relative who assisted the victim to her feet said McClurkin also assaulted him but he didn’t want to press charges or write a statement.
The deputy found McClurkin who the report describes as very unsteady on his feet and intoxicated. McClurkin was placed under arrest and transported to jail.

Willie Franklin Rogers, 76, 973 Meansville Road, Union, charged Monday with two counts of fraudulent check.
Dewayne Lamont Kershaw, 36, 120 Dover Road, Jonesville, charged Monday with trespassing after notice.
James Martin Barshaw, 45, 122 Byrd St., Lot 8, Union, charged Sunday with breach of peace.
Brandon Jamar Rice, 22, 157 Idlewood Circle, Spartanburg, charged Friday with public drunk.
