CHARLOTTE, NC  — Douglas Junior Rice Jr., 56, husband of Mrs. Caroline Gilliam Rice, 10921 Gardenia St., Charlotte, NC, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011 at Levine Dickson Hospice Home in Huntersvilee, NC.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Joshua Rice of Missouri, Ill. and Jarrett Rice of Charlotte, NC; one daughter, Kayla Rice of the home; two brothers, Robert Rice, Ernest Rice; five sisters, Catherine Jones, Barbara Ann Rice, Alice Ruth Rice, Janie Mae (Dennis), Susan Rice; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, James, Lonnie and Mack Arthur; and his mother, Clara Mae; and father, Douglas Jeter.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011 at 2 p.m. at The Lewis Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ronnie Gilliam officiating. Internment will follow at St. Paul Society Cemetery.

The Lewis Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
