Does practice make perfect? Or, does perfect practice make perfect? The Union County High School basketball, soccer and wrestling teams are preparing for their upcoming seasons in hopes of bringing home the next region championship or even a state championship. Teams are scrimmaging, conditioning, battling and doing repetition after repetition in order to bring home a perfect season. The Jackets’ boys basketball team scrimmaged Newberry and Laurens this week and were able to get good, live looks vs. area squads. The girls and boys basketball team’s first regular season game is Nov. 30, at York. Jackets’ wrestlers are working hard to get in shape by running and doing several other demanding exercises so they can be in the best shape when the mats come out. Spring sports teams were allowed two weeks of fall practice, a first for South Carolina high schools. These photos were taken Tuesday at UCHS as five Yellow Jacket teams prepared for their upcoming season.
