Veterans Day means a time to remember those soldiers who are dead and alive who fought for our freedom, our rights and our values. It means a lot that people who don’t know me are willing to die to make sure I’m free. There are memorials for our veterans and days to remember them but they deserve a lot more.
It’s sad to hear about veterans in the news who are homeless and don’t have a job. We should take better care of all our veterans. We should never forget what they did for us. We should send them gifts and letters to let them know we are thinking about them. We could visit them in the hospital or send them get well cards.
Veterans fought for our country. Some gave their lives or their arms or legs, some have lost everything in order to protect our freedom. If we didn’t have freedom we wouldn’t be able to do the things we do today like go to church or school. We wouldn’t be allowed to wear certain clothes or talk or write about things. I’m glad we are free but sad that people have to die for that. I’m thankful for our veterans and I pray for them every day.
