Since the very beginning of America, during the time of our founding fathers, we had men leaving their families, abandoning their lives, and fighting seemingly impossible battles with the hope for a future of freedom. America is defined by its freedom and as a country that fights for its freedom whenever needed.
The question asked was what does Veterans Day mean to me; well, I believe that veterans, the ones who gave up their freedom to fight for ours should be remembered each and everyday. Every time a Bible is opened, every time a vote is cast, we as Americans should remember the men and women who cared enough about their country to leave their families, leave their jobs, leave their entire lives with no promise they were returning just so that we all could live freely. Veterans Day should be a time of great remembrance for and honor to those who have served in the vicious, grueling battles that made America what it is today. Where would we be without the selfless men and women who gave their lives to improve the lives of others? Would we be worshipping the ground some tyrant walked on? Would we be able to worship whatever we want or whenever we want? These questions will remain unanswered as long as there are men and women fighting for our freedom, the defining factor that makes America what it is today.
