Senior Amanda Sinclair finished first on numerous occasions this season but none were any bigger than Tuesday’s win at the Region III-3A cross country meet held at Blue Ridge.
Sinclair and her teammates finished second overall as Blue Ridge won the girls region title.
The Yellow Jackets boys cross country team finished fourth and Jesse Lutner led the team with a fourth-place finish.
Greer won the boys region championship and Blue Ridge finished second.
Union County had five student-athletes to be named All Region which were Lutner from the boys team and Sinclair, Hydia Green, Christa Green and Kelley Strong from the girls team.
All Region honors are given to the top 10 boys and girls runners.
Both UCHS teams will compete in a state qualifying meet Saturday. The state meet is set for Saturday, Nov. 6,

Girls
Blue Ridge 26, Union County 36, Chapman 61, Greer 114, and Clinton 131.
Boys
Greer 31, Blue Ridge 48, Chapman 80, Union County 97, and Clinton 99.
