Albert Osment, Sr.

GAFFNEY — Albert Eugene Osment, Sr., 87, 1448 Burnt Gin Road, formerly of Union County where he resided for 33 years, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 15, 2017 at his residence.

Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of the late Agnes Erwin Osment and son of the late Oscar Osment and Janie Millwood Osment. He retired from textiles, was a U. S. Army Korean War veteran and a member of Blue Branch Baptist Church.

Surviving are two sons, Albert Osment, Jr. and wife Kaye of Florence and Rodger Osment and wife Becky of Chesnee; a daughter, Rachel Henderson and husband Laddie of Gaffney; a grandson raised in the home, Rocky Lynn Keasler; 16 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Darlene Millwood; a son-in-law, Herbert E. (Lefty) Millwood; a grandson, Rickey Keasler; eight brothers, Carl Osment, Oscar Osment, Jr., Everette Roy Osment, William Charles Osment, Troy Osment, John Robert Osment, John Harley Osment and Frank Osment; and two sisters, Mary Katherine Osment and Ola Millwood.

The family will receive friends from 3-4 p.m. on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 4 p.m. in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mickey Mullinax and Mr. Ashby Blakely officiating.
