Service academy information session at UCHS

UNION COUNTY — The staff of US Sen. Tim Scott’s office will hold a service academy information session at Union County High School Thursday for students interested in attending one of the country’s five service academies.In a statement released this afternoon, Scott’s office announced that the service academy information session will be held Thursday from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at the high school.

 

‘Sting Machine’ wins three awards

LAURENS — The Union County High School Marching Band — a.k.a. “The Sting Machine” — was successful in a contest over the weekend.The UCHS marching band competed in the Henry Laurens Invitational at Laurens District 55 High School on Saturday. The band competed in Class 4A, receiving the awards for Best Colorguard, Best Percussion, and Best Musical Performance. The band also received the highest score in classes 1-4A.
