Painting honors church food ministry

JONESVILLE — The efforts of a local church to provide food and other necessities to needy families and individuals has been honored with a painting that now hangs in the church sanctuary.The Potters Storehouse in Jonesville distributes food and other necessities to 3,500-4,500 people or an average of 900 families in need each month. In March of this year, those receiving the church’s assistance included 1,400 children under the age of 16 and 750 people over 65 years old.In addition to its direct distributions to those in need, the church has also assisted other organizations with their food distribution programs including the Town of Carlisle and First Presbyterian Church in Union.
