UNION COUNTY — The Union County School District has been recognized by Gov. Nikki Haley for its nutrition program that teaches kindergarten students about making healthy food choices.The Original Six Foundation was founded by Haley to unite private support to solve public challenges. Its mission is to empower communities to reach their potential through facilitating and collaborating in the areas of education, quality of life, community service, and workforce readiness.On Monday, during an evening gathering in Orangeburg of the foundation and its chairman, Haley, Union County School District Superintendent Dr. Kristi Woodall was presented with Gov. Haley’s Community Spotlight Award for the district’s Healthy Explorers Program.
