County to help EMS purchase new ambulances

UNION COUNTY — The Union County EMS will get some assistance from the county in getting a loan to help cover the cost of purchasing two new ambulances.During its July meeting Tuesday afternoon, Union County Council voted unanimously to authorize the county to serve as co-signer on a loan being taken out by the EMSSupervisor Tommy Sinclair said the EMS is in the process of purchasing two new ambulances to replace two older ones in its fleet. He said the loan will be used along with funds raised by the Union County Healthcare Foundation and a grant from the Timken Foundation to cover the cost of the new ambulances.
