Ervin brings campaign to Union County

BUFFALO — Independent Republican gubernatorial candidate Tom Ervin spoke at Andy’s of Buffalo as part of his campaign on Saturday.Ervin’s campaign is based on several principles such as the elimination of personal state income tax, increasing minimum wage and offsetting it with small business tax credits and fixing roads and bridges. Ervin’s campaign slogan is, “Common sense, not rocket science.”Ervin made a statement regarding South Carolina’s unemployment rate increase for the second consecutive month to 6.4 percent.

Jonesville Festival more than 700 visitors

JONESVILLE — More than 700 people turned out for this year’s Jonesville Town Festival which offered a variety of activities including the opportunity to go for a ride on a camel named “Sidney.”As in years past, the festival was held on Main Street which was lined with vendors selling everything from funnel cakes to hot dogs to fresh-squeezed lemonade to barbecue as well as non-food items such as jewelry and DVDs.
