Ashley Jenkins, 5K teacher, won the JEMS Relay for Life Cow Patty $500 prize which was presented to her by Bernice Inman who oversaw the contest. Charlie Kelly brought two cows: Iris, a 15-year-old veteran, and Julia, a 3-year-old backup. Julia came through in less than one hour.

Manners, respect and dress equal success

The Ladies’ and Gentlemen’s Club from Union County High School visited Foster Park Elementary School. They visited fifth grade classes to encourage these students to work hard and to always do their best. The group talked about how manners, showing respect and dressing for success has improved not only their attitudes toward themselves and others, but has also been instrumental in improving their grades. Many of the fifth graders stated that they would be interested in joining the club when they get to high school.
