The class was recognized during USC’s March 3 basketball game against the University of Florida. Each student who participated received two free tickets to the game. The Dictionary Project was founded by Mary French in 1995 to provide personal copies of a dictionary for third grade students in the South Carolina public school system. The dictionaries are funded through individual donations and by sponsors who implement the program in their local schools.

She talked not only about her profession, but expressed the importance of staying in school and doing their best. Dr. Jeter attended Foster Park Elementary during her elementary school years. She asked the children to choose a profession that they really enjoy because it takes dedication and hard work to achieve goals. Students lined up as Dr. Jeter asked them what they want to do when they grow up. Some of the chosen professions included: veterinarian, doctor, lawyer, policeman, football player and army career. Dr. Jeter’s accomplishments were especially encouraging and inspiring to the students since she grew up and attended school at Foster Park Elementary School. Dr. Jeter is a classic example of how working hard and staying positive can help you reach your dreams. Dr. Natasha Jeter is a wonderful example of a” Foster Park Eagle” flying away and achieving a successful career. We at Foster Park are proud that she started her journey here.

The entire school reported reading 41,538 pages over a two-week span. Second graders Annie Wang and Mehki Wilson both tied for being the highest readers in the school with 701 pages each.
