Book Donations

The Friends of the Library will have mini-sales and accept book donations from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on March 1, March 15 and April 1 at 112 E. Main St. Friends of the Library receive a 50 percent discount during sales.

Acrylic Painting

Adult Acrylic Painting will be held from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on March 7. Cost for materials is $2.50. Class size is 10. Registration required so call 864-427-7140, ext. 301.

Book Signing

Dilsa Saunders Bailey, author of Dreams Thrown Away, will be at the library to sign her new book, The Sperling Chronicles: Split Images from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on March 16.

Personalized Candy Jar

A Personalized Candy Jar class will be held from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on April 4. Cost for materials is $3. Registration required so call 864-427-7140, ext. 301.

Ceramic Plate Painting

A Ceramic Plate Painting will be held from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on May 2. Cost for material is $3. Registration required so call 864-427-7140, ext. 301

Crocheting

Crocheting for Beginners for Kids will be held from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on February 25 for children ages 6-12. Class size is 10. Registration required so call 864-427-7140, ext. 302.

Union County is sponsoring the Meansville Riley Water Company's application for a $350,000 grant through the South Carolina Rural Infrastructure Authority. The grant would enable the company to install approximately 31,000 linear feet of new water main on eight different roadways and improve water quality. If requested to do so, should the county sponsor more such grant applications by other local water companies?
