The Union Public Safety Department reported the following arrests:
— Trent Jeffry Atkinson, 20, of 117 Seigler Road, Union, was charged with assault and battery around 3 p.m. on May 10. According to the arrest warrant, Atkinson struck a woman in the left arm during an argument at his residence. The report states the woman was holding a small child at the time.
— Javarion Casselle Spears, 17, of 304 Railroad St., Union, was charged with shoplifting around 6:09 p.m. on May 11. According to the arrest warrant, Spears took an iPhone case valued at $31.67 from Walmart in Union.
— Dawn Marie Schreiber, 42, of 125 Woodlawn Avenue, Union, was charged with assault and battery on May 12. According to the arrest warrant, Schreiber struck a woman about her body during an argument at Schreiber’s residence.
— Christopher Lamor Hill, 30, of 108 West Cohen St., Union, was charged with disorderly conduct around 12:45 a.m. on May 12.
— David Lee Jeter, 54, of 2866 Pilgram Road, Chester, was charged with driving under suspension, habitual traffic offender, and a seat belt violation around 2:40 p.m. on May 10.
The Union Public Safety Department reported the following incidents:
— Around 1:20 a.m. May 12, officers observed someone on a motorcycle driving recklessly around the 400 block of West Main Street, Union. An officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Long Twelve Street, and the driver got off the motorcycle and ran behind a residence. When the tag to the motorcycle was run, officers discovered that it was stolen. A K-9 unit attempted to track the driver, but lost the scent at Duncan Acres Church and Rice Ave. Officers believed that the subject was picked up. The motorcycle was towed and the helmet was taken for evidence. The case was forwarded to investigations.
— A resident of North Pinckney Street, Union, reported on May 10 several items were missing from her home, and the door was locked with no sign of forced entry. Missing items included an iron valued at $30, CDs valued at $30, tea glasses valued at $10, and a shirt valued at $12. An investigation continues.
— A resident of South Mountain Street, Union, reported on May 10 that two of her vehicles were vandalized between 8 p.m. on May 9 and 7 a.m. on May 10. Both vehicles were scratched on all sides, hood and trunk.
The Union County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests:
— Charles Lee Sims, III, 20, of 205 Old Airport Road, Whitmire, was charged with littering, driving under suspension, failure to surrender a suspended driver’s license, and possession of drug paraphernalia around 5:55 p.m. on May 10. A warrant was also signed on Sims for possession with intent to distribute marijuana. According to the incident report, Sims was stopped for littering, and when after an officer ran his license, it came up suspended for failure to pay a traffic ticket. Before the vehicle was towed, it was inventoried, and officers found two sets of digital scales, a bag containing approximately two ounces of green plant material believed to be marijuana, a box of sandwich bags, and a marijuana pipe with burnt residue found behind the front passenger seat.
— Jordan Lei Riddle, 19, was charged as a minor in consumption of alcohol around 11:55 p.m. on May 11.
— Bobby Gene Black, 50, of 2611 West Springs Highway, Jonesville, was charged with driving under the influence and two counts of possession of a controlled substance around 9:30 p.m. on May 11.
— James Cody Dickard, 17, of 109 Hayes Drive, Union, was charged as a minor in consumption of alcohol around 12:08 a.m. on May 12.
The Union County Sheriff’s Office reported the following incidents:
— A resident of Buffalo West Springs Highway, Pauline, reported on May 11 that his 2007 Chevrolet pickup truck was stolen from his residence. He stated the keys were left in it when he parked it. The truck is valued at $9,000 and it was entered into NCIC.
— A resident of Deepwater Road, Union, reported on May 12 that his medication — 270 tablets of Hydrocodone — was taken from his residence while he was at church.
