UNION — Students at Foster Park Elementary School faced PASS Testing by playing “Survivor.”
The students and staff started the week wearing “Foster Park Eagles Live the Challenge” T shirts. Their motto, “Out Smart, Out Think, Out Score” was imprinted on the front of the shirt. The students challenged each other to do his/her best and to earn the right to compete in the final challenge which was held on Friday. Each class decided on a tribe name and competed in team-building challenges.
Mrs. Inman’s class won the trophy by achieving the highest score on the challenges. The “Survivor” trophy was accepted by Mrs. Inman’s class during the final ceremony. Her class wanted to thank Mrs. Roark’s second grade class for “adopting” them during PASS Testing and sending them messages and treats, so they asked the second grade class to keep the trophy until next year when they (as third graders) will be expected to take the PASS Test.
The students were then treated to “Dirt Pie” (cake with Graham Cracker topping), worms (Gummy), and tropical punch.
Thank you to everyone who made this day a success and helped the Foster Park Eagles “Live the Challenge.”
Mrs. Vinson’s preschool class, along with all of the students and staff at Foster Park Elementary School, wanted to show support for the students in grades 3-5. They wore their green PASS “Survivor Island” T shirts to inspire the “upper grades” to do their best on PASS Testing.
