The Union County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests:
— Albert Henry Turner, Jr., 67, of 5 Hanson Circle, Laurens, was charged with public intoxication and simple possession of marijuana around 12:13 a.m. on Jan. 12.
— John Henry Holden, Jr., 53, of 267 Eaves Road, Whitmire; Miriam Elise Dickert, 21, of 508 Eaves Road, Whitmire; and Ernest Franklin Matthews, 55, of 225 Eaves Road, Whitmire were each charged with trespassing around 12:15 p.m. on Jan. 12. According to the incident report, officers responded to a bridge at Hwy. 176 and Hwy. 72 in Whitmire after getting a report that three subjects were taking scrap metal from the railroad tracks. The subjects said they had a few buckets of metal in the trunk of their car and that they were unaware that they could not get the metal.
— Dewonna Jamaille Brandon, 35, of 302 West Henrietta Street, Union, was charged with disorderly conduct around 5:30 a.m. on Jan. 13. According to the incident report, Brandon entered a store at 1315 Lockhart Hwy. and became upset that the gas pumps were inoperable. Brandon was advised that the computers were down, and she began to use vulgar language. Brandon also made an obscene gesture with her middle finger to an officer as she was leaving. She was then arrested and transported to Union County Jail.
The Union County Sheriff’s Office reported the following incidents:
— A resident of Main Street, Buffalo, reported on Jan. 11 that someone broke the back window out of her vehicle. The incident report states that the window had a small hole in the passenger side which looked as though a BB gun was used to brake the glass. Damage to the vehicle was valued at $300.
— A resident of North Duncan Bypass, Union, reported on Jan. 11 that someone moved a window air conditioning unit and took a Bose CD stereo as well as around $30 in change. Items taken were valued at an approximate total of $770.
— A resident of Old Buncombe Road, Union, reported on Jan. 11 that someone broke her bedroom window and took two gold diamond rings, two packs of cigarettes, several old coins and four $5 bills, all of which was valued at a total of $1,400. The case was turned over to investigations.
— A resident of 205 Bailey Road, Buffalo, reported on Jan. 12 that 30 sheets of tin, a metal stand and a piece of copper line were stolen from his residence. Items missing were valued at a total of $630.
— A resident of Bird Street, Union, reported on Jan. 13 that someone broke into his residence by breaking a window. The victim stated that items missing included $200 in cash, as well as a laptop and various watches and rings. Missing items were valued at a total of $8,615. The case was turned over to investigations.
— The co-owner of a residence on Haywood Street, Buffalo, reported on Jan. 14 that items were missing from the residence including a metal dog pen, two fry cookers, a propane wall-mount heater and a fiberglass ladder. The items were valued at a total of $550, and the case was turned over to investigations.
— A resident of Jefferies Farm Road, Jonesville, reported on Jan. 11 that a 1996 Gold Honda Accord was taken from his residence between the night of Jan. 10 and Friday, Jan. 11. The resident was working on the vehicle — which actually belongs to someone else — at his home.
The Union Public Safety Department reported the following arrests:
— Tasha Dawn Cox, 29, of 132 Bedrock Road, Spartanburg, was charged with driving under suspension around 2:45 p.m. on Jan. 13.
— Terrence Jamar Jeter, 22, of 302 Lawson Ave., Union, was charged with simple possession of marijuana around 2:58 a.m. on Jan. 13. According to the incident report, officers located a clear plastic bag of a green plantlike substance on Jeter after pulling him over for disregarding a traffic signal.
— William Matthew Ochiltree, 22, of 146 Hamm Street, Union, was charged with trespassing after notice around 10:35 p.m. on Jan. 13. According to the arrest warrant, Ochiltree returned to the property of 104 Third Ave., Union, after being given a written notice of trespass on Sept. 11, 2012.
— Jessie Marie Smith, 30, of 765 Monarch Hwy., Union, was charged with criminal domestic violence around 11:05 p.m. on Jan. 14. According to the arrest warrant, Smith hit a man in the mouth, grabbed his shirt and scratched his arm during an altercation at a residence on Long Twelve Street in Union.
— Christopher Lamor Hill, 29, of 108 West Cohen Street, Union, was charged with disorderly conduct around 11:45 p.m. on Jan. 14.
The Union Public Safety Department reported the following incidents:
— A resident of Columbus Street, Union, reported on Jan. 12 that her pocket was picked while inside the Lil Cricket located at 616 West Main Street, Union. The victim stated that a young male followed her into the store, asking her to buy him a Black and Mild cigar and a beer. When she refused, he took the EBT card from her coat pocket and left the store. A copy of the surveillance tape was given to officers and the case was turned over to investigations.
— A resident of Bowling Ave., Union, reported on Jan. 12 that someone broke into her home and stole a 32-inch flat screen television. When officers responded, they noticed blocks stacked against the rear bedroom window and that a pane of glass had been broken out. Items missing and damage was valued at a total of $325. The case was turned over to investigations.
— A resident of Meansville Road, Union, reported on Jan. 13 that while he was away from home between the hours of 5 p.m. on Jan. 12 and 9 a.m. on Jan. 13 that his back door had been broken and a cordless drill motor, battery charger, flash light and two batteries were taken. Items missing were valued at $200. The case was turned over to investigations.
— A resident of Lakewood Drive, Union, reported around 9 a.m. on Jan. 14 that her vehicle had been hit on the rear driver side. The victim did not know the location where the vehicle was damaged.
— Officers responded to the building at 225 Lakeside Drive, Union which was formerly Berry Lumber Co. around 11 a.m. on Jan. 14. Various vehicle parts, wiring and air conditioner parts were taken, and the estimated value of items missing was a total of $1,700. The case was turned over to investigations.
