SENECA — His older brothers, Trevor Booker and Devin Booker, cast pretty big shadows but on Thursday night, at Morris College, it was all about Darrion Booker.
Darrion, a product of Union County High School, turned in 18 points and 10 rebounds to help Talladega College to a 78-69 road win.
The senior forward picked up 13 of his points in the first half although Morris College didn’t make scoring easy for Talladega’s post players.
“Most of the teams in this conference double our posts,” said Darrion. “So we just work inside out. While the guards swing the ball I work around the paint trying to get open.”
Darrion has been a critical piece of Talladega’s gameplan since returning from an ankle injury that sidelined him last month.
The Tornadoes are on a five game winning streak and will look to extend it on Saturday when they travel to Fisk University.
