The Union County softball team put itself in the driver’s seat of District 4 on Tuesday night when it defeated Chapin 4-1 on the road to advance to the tournament finale.
Payton Martin pitched a complete seven innings game for the Lady Jackets and allowed just three hits. Every player on the Union County line-up contributed at least one hit. Dexlie Inman led the way with three doubles and Abby Allen went 2-4 at the plate.
The Lady Jackets will host the winner of Wednesday night’s Palmetto/Chapin game in the District Championship on Friday. Union County’s opponent will be faced with the task of taking on an undefeated team that will have to be beaten twice.
