UNION — Union County’s varsity and JV softball teams sent the Cyclones back to Chester with a pair of losses on Tuesday. The JV Jackets recorded a 12-6 win in the early game before Hannah Sailors hit and pitched the Lady Jackets to a 13-0 shutout.
Sailors tossed a one-hitter in four innings of work before being replaced on the hill by Payton Martin who threw one inning of relief. Sailors went 3-3 at the plate with a home run and an inside-the-park grand slam.
The Lady Jackets improve to 11-0 on the season, 5-0 in Region III-AAA and will travel to Woodruff on Friday for a 7 p.m. contest.
