UNION — The Union County Chamber of Commerce and the Union County Recreation Department will host a concert series this summer consisting of four music events in Union.

The event is billed as Downtown Summer Music Fest and will be held from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. — on four separate Saturdays — at the gazebo at USC Union.

The concert dates are June 8, June 22, July 20, and Aug. 3.

Each concert will feature a different genre of music, with two acts for each show. The lineups are as follows:

June 8 — Mill Billy Blues and Rickey Godfrey

June 22 — Hit-N-Run and Not Even Brothers

July 20 — The Downing Family and Praise 150

Aug. 3 — Split Rail Bluegrass Band and West End String Band

The Downtown Summer Music Fest is sponsored by The Union Daily Times, The City of Union, Timken, Kimbrell’s Furniture, Founders Federal Credit Union, State Farm, and Oakmont of Union.

Look for an in-depth look at each individual concert in upcoming editions of The Union Daily Times and at www.uniondailytimes.com.

Union County is sponsoring the Meansville Riley Water Company's application for a $350,000 grant through the South Carolina Rural Infrastructure Authority. The grant would enable the company to install approximately 31,000 linear feet of new water main on eight different roadways and improve water quality. If requested to do so, should the county sponsor more such grant applications by other local water companies?
