Local tennis players compete in tournament

Alexa Nance (left) and Mackinzie Murphy (right) competed in the Spartanburg Country Club’s St. Patrick’s Day Shining tournament on Saturday. Nance won two and lost two in the 12s division while Murphy lost two close matches in the 10s division. It was the first USTA event either of the athletes have participated in and tennis pro/coach Brad Tate said he was pleased with both performances.
