Timken earns John Deere’s ‘Partner-level Supplier’ recognition

CANTON, Ohio — The Timken Company (NYSE: TKR; www.timken.com) today announced it earned recognition as a Partner-level supplier for 2012 in the John Deere Achieving Excellence Program. Partner-level status is Deere & Company’s highest supplier rating. John Deere selected Timken for the honor in recognition of its dedication to providing products and services of outstanding quality as well as its commitment to continuous improvement. Timken employees accepted the recognition during formal ceremonies held this week in Davenport, Iowa.

The Timken Company supplies bearings and power transmission components, along with engineered steel, to John Deere operations around the world.

John Deere evaluates suppliers that participate in the Achieving Excellence program in several key performance categories including quality, cost management, delivery, technical support, and ‘wavelength’—a measure of responsiveness. John Deere Supply Management created the program in 1991 to provide a supplier evaluation and feedback process that promotes continuous improvement.

Union County is sponsoring the Meansville Riley Water Company's application for a $350,000 grant through the South Carolina Rural Infrastructure Authority.
