CLEMSON — Devin Booker joined his older brother Trevor in Clemson’s prestigious 1,000 point club following a 19-point performance against Boston College earlier this month. On Sunday he was honored for his achievement prior to the Miami game. The Booker brothers are just the second brother combo in Clemson history and fifth in the annals of the Atlantic Coast Conference to pull off the feat.
Trevor, who plays with the Washington Wizards, was on hand for the ceremony along with his parents (Tracey and Gerald) and his youngest brother, Jared.
Devin went on to record the 16th double digit rebounding game of his career with 10 boards as Clemson (13-12, 5-8) nearly upset the Miami Hurricanes, (21-3, 7-0).
The senior forward turned in 11 points, 10 rebounds, 1 block and 1 steal in the 45-43 loss.
On Monday, Trevor, the eldest Booker baller, was back in Washington for that night’s game against Toronto. He turned in 10 points, 6 rebounds and one assist in the 96-88 loss. Trevor has been riddled with injuries all season, including a slight tear in his right knee. Monday night’s game was his first appearance since being sidelined for over a month with a wrist injury. He’s playing through the pain for now but plans to undergo surgery once the season ends and says he is looking forward to an injury-free season next year.
Darrion Booker, Trevor and Devin’s younger brother, scored 10 points and pulled down nine rebounds for Talladega College on Monday in a 65-58 loss to Philander Smith College.
