Crime Report

The Union County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrest:

— Raymond Taquan McRae, 24, of 112 Thomas Ranch Road, Union, was charged with shoplifting and disorderly conduct around 5:40 a.m. on Feb. 21. According to the incident report, officers responded to Kangaroo Express, located at 1315 Lockhart Highway, Union, in reference to a shoplifter. Officers located McRae, who was in his car, and could smell a strong odor of alcohol. McRae granted permission to search his car, inside which officers found items from the store that had not been paid for — one bag of Tom’s Hot Fries, one bag of Snyder’s pretzel pieces, six Slim Jim snacks and two Fire Cracker pickled sausages — valued at a total of $16.

The Union Public Safety Department reported the following arrests:

— Donnie Edwin Guy, 34, of 125 Byers Cr., Blacksburg, was charged with driving without a license around 4:15 a.m. on Feb. 21.

— Vicente Ramirez Sanchez, 37, of 1409 Main Street, Buffalo, was charged with driving without a license around 5:25 p.m. on Feb. 20.

The Union Public Safety Department reported the following incidents:

— Officers responded to a break-in on Evans Street on Feb. 20. Someone who was watching the house while the resident was away checked the building to find that a window was broken out in the back of the house, and the couch appeared as though someone had been sleeping on it. Fingerprints were taken from the window, and the case was turned over to investigation.
